My passport was damaged. Can I renew this passport?

I just got divorced and resumed my maiden name. What do I need to do?
If your passport was issued more than one year ago, you must renew your passport. You must also supply the certified copy of your divorce decree with your application materials. I am divorced and I do not have my divorce decree.
You have two options:
- Contact the county that adjudicated your divorce and obtain a certified copy. This decree MUST STATE that you may resume your maiden name.
- If you cannot obtain your divorce decree, you must follow the NEW PASSPORT GUIDELINES.
